Singing Together

I Have This Hope

Verse 1

As I walk this great unknown

Questions come and questions go

Was there purpose for the pain

Or did I cry these tears in vain

Verse 2

I don't wanna live in fear

I wanna trust that You are near

Trust Your grace can be seen

In both triumph and tragedy

Chorus 1

I have this hope

In the depths of my soul

In the flood or the fire

You are with me and You won't let go

Verse 3

But sometimes my faith feels thin

Like the night will never end

Will You catch every tear

Or will You just leave me here
(CHORUS 2x)

Bridge

Whatever happens I will not be afraid

'Cause You are closer than this breath that I take

You calm the storm when I hear You call my name

I still believe that one day I'll see Your face

Chorus 2

I have this hope

In the depths of my soul

In the flood or the fire

You are with me

I have this hope

In the depths of my soul

In the flood or the fire

You are with me and You won't let go

In the flood or the fire

You are with me and You won't let go

In the flood or the fire

You are with me and You won't let go

See A Victory

Verse 1

The weapon may be formed but it won't prosper

When the darkness falls it won't prevail

'Cause the God I serve knows only how to triumph

My God will never fail

My God will never fail

Chorus 2x

I'm gonna see a victory

I'm gonna see a victory

For the battle belongs to You Lord

Verse 2

There's power in the mighty Name of Jesus

Every war He wages He will win

I'm not backing down from any giant

I know how this story ends

I know how this story ends
(CHORUS)

Bridge 6x

You take what the enemy meant for evil

And You turn it for good

You turn it for good

(CHORUS)

How Great Thou Art

Verse 1

O Lord my God

When I in awesome wonder

Consider all the worlds

Thy hands have made

I see the stars

I hear the rolling thunder

Thy pow'r thru'out

The universe displayed

Chorus

Then sings my soul

My Savior God to Thee

How great Thou art

How great Thou art

Then sings my soul

My Savior God to Thee

How great Thou art

How great Thou art

Verse 2

And when I think

That God His Son not sparing

Sent Him to die

I scarce can take it in

That on the cross

My burden gladly bearing

He bled and died

To take away my sin
(CHORUS)

Verse 3

When Christ shall come

With shout of acclamation

And take me home

What joy shall fill my heart

Then I shall bow

In humble adoration

And there proclaim

My God how great Thou art

(CHORUS 2x)

TAG

How great Thou art

How great Thou art

Title: ACTS-ions Unto Unity

Text:  Acts 2, 6, and 10

Message Outline:

I  Oblivious (Acts 2)

II  Aware  (Acts 6)

III  Compassion (Acts 10)

IV  Community (Acts 10)

Teaching Texts:  Acts 2, 6, and 10

ACTS 2:1-6

1 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in othertongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.  5 Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. 6 And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language.

ACTS 6:1-4

1 Now in these days when the disciples were increasing in number, a complaint by the Hellenists arose against the Hebrews because their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution. 2 And the twelve summoned the full number of the disciples and said, “It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables. 3 Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty. 4 But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

ACTS 10:9-15

9 The next day, as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop about the sixth hour to pray. 10 And he became hungry and wanted something to eat, but while they were preparing it, he fell into a trance 11 and saw the heavens opened and something like a great sheet descending, being let down by its four corners upon the earth. 12 In it were all kinds of animals and reptiles and birds of the air. 13 And there came a voice to him: “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.” 14 But Peter said, “By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.” 15 And the voice came to him again a second time, “What God has made clean, do not call common.”

ACTS 10:17-28

17 “Now while Peter was inwardly perplexed as to what the vision that he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius (that’s a gentile), having made inquiry for Simon's house, stood at the gate…

23 So he invited them in to be his guests.  The next day he rose and went away with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him.  And on the following day they entered Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends…

27 And as he talked with him, he went in and found many persons gathered. 28 And he said to them, “You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with or to visit anyone of another nation, but God has shown me that I should not call any person common or unclean.
